I know exactly what I'm looking for in the guitar department. I just had an epiphany and I'm pretty uhh, I don't know what emotion I'm feeling... Excitement?
Well... As far as foo-foo effects go... Those can wait. I'm talking about the guitar itself.
I finally decided what tube amp I'm going to get and I kept coming back to it. It is infact... The Egnator Renegade. There's something about it that makes it special... I think it's the wonderful tube mix knob, the bright and tight switches, and the reverb sounded really nice too... Oh and the dampening controls. The dampening controls give me the nice dark, rich, warm... Whatever you want to call it tone.
Also... I decided what I'm looking for in a new guitar but not a model yet... What I want in a new guitar is a nice guitar with medium output humbuckers as the stock as opposed to higher output pickups that will cause the guitar signal to break up the front of the amp faster. I want a nice natural sounding clean tone that allows the characteristics of the wood to seep in. Not like a low end Ibanez... Something with character. And as far as tone when I kick on the distortion... That's something I'll have to shape myself. Any suggestions? I was thinking a PRS Custom 22 but the price is like that sensation when you stick your head too close to a fire and you can picture yourself in flames. lol.
