Classic Fenders have a tone pot that is a dual pot with a center detent. I'm thinking about getting one for a project but need some details on them. Does anyone know: 1) The impedance of the pots? 2) Are both pots the same impedance? 3) It seems reasonable to assume that the center detent is half the value of that impedance, is this correct? 4) Are the two pots electrically isolated from each other except for the shell? That is, could you use them for more or less unrelated portions of the circuit and not get cross talk? Thank you Last edited by mid_life_crisis; 07-21-2010 at 07:37 PM. Reason: Corrected mistake |

Are you talking about guitars or amps? I've never played either that had a tone pot with a detent. If you're talking about guitars, and more specifically guitars like the Les Paul with dual humbuckers, they usually have 500k tone and volume pots. I suggest going to Seymour Duncan's website and check out the wiring diagrams there.
