Hey everyone, I own a Line 6 Pod 2.0.... and an Ibanez RG370DX I was hoping to get the famous canon rock/neil zaza 'im alright' sound. Example video: youtube.com/watch?v=DoQkobH4P1Q&feature=player_embedded# I was wondering if anyone knew or could instruct me on what settings to choose to get this sound? Kind regards, Vin |

Your best bet would be to go to Line6.com and ask around the forums. You could also go to here: Line 6 :: Custom Tone http://line6.com/community/index.jspa

I'm the first one to want to help people dial in tone, but the truth is that you have a piece of gear with infinite settings. If you can't find something close enough to tweak, it means that you are too out of touch for us to help. Come on! Whip through the presets, and then tweak from there. If you can't do that, then how can anyone else help you? | |

I'll give this offering away because I'm feeling saucy today and felt like doing some searching, and this could benefit others looking for the tone. From UG How do I get Funtwos guitar tone (Canon Rock) @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com Forum Archive Quote:

The problem with that is, he's using a POD 2.0, not a PODxt. You could easily get a similar tone, though. Even better if you can hook it up to your computer via the midi cables so you can see the exact settings. Personally, I would have suggested the "modern high gain" model that models the Soldano X88R preamp (don't remember if it was MHG1 or MHG2).

I know Erik, and this is where the OP might run into problems getting the same tones as the XT. I'll see if I can contact JerryC and ask for his settings. Some guitarists don't like to give out trade secrets, but it's worth a shot. The one thing I always do when it comes to either my PODxt or my X3 is to research the guitarists amps and effects used and spend some time getting that tone/effect right. It takes a lot of tweaking, but one can come very close.
