Oh, I wasn't disputing that, G. It's just the question comes up in various ways often, and figgered I'd throw in the technical explanation I found. To tell the truth, I don't know which of my pedals are analog or digital- I just know what I like or don't. Kinda the point I was trying to get across to Austrian Death Machine- who cares if it's analog/digital/your friends don't like it? Before you mentioned it though, if we were betting, I woulda bet the MZ was digital. It just sounds digital to me. Maybe that's why I'm not much into metal; the guitars pretty much have that high squeal that I associate with a digital sound. But you do get interesting sounds from it. I just hate screwing around with the knobs for half an hour, and it does color my tone when it's in my chain, whether its on or off.

| Since I didn't know what I was talking about. Could've sworn I'd read or heard it was digital, but then... I do like to showcase my knowledge, or lack thereof from time to time. Usually by opening my mouth.

Huh, I was under the assumption that it was an analog pedal. Since it doesn't have the "clicking" knobs (as in there might only be 60+ notches in a digital pedal knob) that it ment it was analog. Well, I don't really know for sure. I suppose I could do some research to find out, but it doesn't really matter that much to me at the moment.

The "chips", or ICs (Integrated Circuits) that are used in the Metal Zone aren't much different than the "chip" that's used in the Tubescreamer. All an IC, or in this case, a dual operational amplifier (opamp for short) is, is a bunch of transistors, resistors, and capacitors making up an amplifying circuit that fits into a really tiny package. Nothing digital about it.
