Sounds like an electrical problem. Take that and get it checked out. You never know, it could flare up the next time you play it. If you have a warranty on it, take that too. If it's deffective use it to get a new one.

well the smell could be the amps running too hot. that is a tech's job to find out why, before the whole amp. becomes a ball of fire.

i would NOT use it untill i had it checked out.

Just do the safe thing and get it checked out. I would only need to see fire hazard once, and I'd be on my way to a technician fast.

I love it to bits, i prefer it over most marshals ive heard, you can get such a nice tone off it when using it with nice alnico pickups

it sounds like something in your guitar is heating up the wood inside your guitar. it could be they didnt fully cover the guitar with laminent or watever it is they put on there, but im guessing the heat from ur wires is getting to the wood, causing it to smell like hay. take it apart and take a better look and let us know

--im sorry, i was mistaken you were talking about a guitar lol. but yes it does sound like an electrical problem

It could be nothing, but to be sure, I would have it checked out. My boogie had some tube smell when I first got it. Once the tubes burned in, if you will the smell dissipated. But as with anything electrical, best to be cautious and be sure you are playing with a safe device.
