Thought you guys might get a kick outa this. It's a catalogue I used to drool over when I was 16 years old. I begged my parents to buy me the "Modular Synth" but they totally refused. So, to get my mind off it, they bought me my first no-name electric guitar and Westinghouse amplifier instead just so I wouldn't 'waste' all my savings on a dumb 'synth' thing. I never did get any of those pedals either... man, I wanted that 'Foot' switch and Wah Wah & used to lie in bed at night and just stare at em. http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/PAiA1974_Catalog-3.pdf It's a pdf file so it'll probably download to your desktop or something

You still have that catalogue !? Wow man , that kind of stuff was so cool back then !... (doing my best Chong impersonation ... )But you know, looking at that catalogue sure brings back memories of a different time... like going to Radio Shack and buying the parts to make amps, speakers etc ... It seems that there's less time to build things these days ... at least for me.

I guess this was the beginning of my addiction to synths, recording, pedals etc. Even now I still use a VST Moog Modular plug-in with Cubase, with all the bells and whistles I wanted back then & still refer back to the descriptions of what the various modules did like Envelope Generator, Ring Modulator and oscilators etc. This was also the first time I'd ever heard of a sequencer, mixer and guitar stuff like Wah Wah, Distortion and probably one of the first drum machines. I eventually built a Heathkit Fuzz Pedal ... ordered it C.O.D. for $27.50 and spent about 2 weeks soldering it together. Luckily my mom used to solder electronic parts for a living so I learned from the best. It weighed a ton, was built like a tank and sounded like crap but hey, the sound got me in my first band ![]()

Really cool stuff Schmange thanks for posting it. I love old synth stuff too. Radio shack had a synthesizer that was a Mini Moog in a Tandy case actually made by Moog. I couldn't talk my parents into that either. I still see those on e-bay once in a while and am very tempted to pick one up as they are usually about 1/4 the price of a Mini Moog. But if I had one of every piece of music equipment I wanted I'd be on an episode of Hoarders.
