Hound Dog Guitar value?

Hello everyone, I have a question about a guitar that my grandfather gave me several years ago. Its an acoustic guitar, the inlay reads "Hound Dog" on the head. He owned a music store in the 80's and played the Dobro, he sold Dobro's and I believe he said this was a cheaper guitar made in the 80's by them . I was wondering if anyone had any information about this guitar and what it's possibly worth. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Keith, but I have googled it. Nothing I have found pertains to the particular model I have. As soon as I can post some pics I will, maybe someone here can be of some help if they see it.

Jim, first, welcome to the forum. I personally don't have knowledge of that guitar, but we have many members from all over the world who are quite knowledgeable, and helpful. Is there anything else about the guitar to possibly shed some light on it? Serial number maybe? A more detailed description? Hang out in the meantime and familiarize yourself with the forum. You may get your answer sooner than you think.

Please don't randomly post one word comments, to up your post count, as that's considered trollish behavior. It's getting late here for me, so, in the meantime, take a look around the forum, maybe introduce yourself, etc. OK?

Take a look through the pictures also. If one fits the description, point it out, unless of course, it answers your question. But I'm sure the members would like to see a picture.

Thanks again Slim, I looked at the link. My guitar is not a resonator actually, but just a plain old acoustic with the "Hound Dog" inlay.

This is one of the times I wish Dusty were around. I wish I had his resources that he used for vintage and unusual guitars.

Hmm...I can see why you had a difficult time finding anything in google, Jim. Even Hound Dog Acoustic Guitars" give me hits for dobros/resonator guitars.

Any other hints, like a label in the sound-hole; country of make/company name?

It could be that "Hound Dog" points to a dobro-like guitar, but with a wood body. Does your guitar have a resonator-like cone?

I think picture would be helpful.
