I have changed 2 packs of strings the last two weeks. I am fed up with haveing my strings rusted. Iwant to ask how to prevent this from happening again.

That's uncommon to have to change them that fast. You might want to use a different brand. Always wash your hands before playing and wipe the strings down when you are through.

some people have a chemical in their body, that destroys guitar strings in a week or less. it is not uncommon. most of the guys -wash their hands before , during, and after they play, plus they wipe the strings down with a soft cloth, between every song. some guys use finger-ease-which puts a silicone coating on the strings, this seams to help some. if you are a singer and rythem player, go to nylon or gut strings. jimmy

You can purchase some string cleaner. Just clean them everytime that you are done playing and they will last longer.

Hard to say, may be your chemical makeup, maybe your not wiping them down. Casing them doesn't do much if they aren't clean going in. Casing them doesn't do much if your in high humidity, there is nothing in the case to prevent it unless you put in those little desicant bags, which then dry out the guitar too much. It has to be physical. Mine stay hanging all the time, I play all of them all the time, and truth be told, I don't wipe them all the time, but they don't rust over night like you intimate. It has to be chemically in your finger tips. |

| I have heard that it is good to wipe the strings with alcohol.

Lots of you guys have written about a chemical string cleaner. Can you tell me what brand is it so I can by it. Next time I will try with high - quality strings. Thank you very much for the posts!
