Backing track to "Hey Joe" written by Billy Roberts in 1962 ,, redone by Hendrix in 1966.. several other versions done by others like Tim Rose, and The Leaves. I like this song because it's easy to jam solo's over, either easy stuff or you can get very creative. This song has a very unique chord progression for those times. It's a back cycling prgression starting on the bVI(C), to bIII (G) to bVII (D) to the IV (A) and then finally to the tonic I (E). Hendrix did most of his solos around the Eminor pentatonic. It would be cool if we stepped out of that and see what we can come up with... this is just a jam you don't need to try to play Hendrix's solo over this (all though you can if you want to).. Strictly for fun Edit: I should probably mention , This was a free down load backing track , I didn't produce it. on to the link SoundClick artist: Toastedgoat and B.O G. - a rocking , rapping. bluesy , countryfied mess. Now I don't claim to be a lead guitarist, I will play leads to my own songs. I am not a lead guitarist but I like to mess around. Anyways this is what I came up with, on my new STRAT!!! SoundClick artist: hardwired flaws - page with MP3 music downloads |

I think HF's take is good.. nice jammin. I dig the tones on the strat. some very nice chops in there too. edit: ok here is my F'd up take on this.. I did this one take improv trying to get outside the box.. problem is ... when you think you stink.. I was thinking about it to much. I'll repost another version .. this is probably what it would sound like with me live goofin off at some kind of jam session.. not really caring if it's "right on" . recorded on my partscaster, into the line 6 gearbox silver tone port, with the marshall plexi head setting. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8660637 Last edited by toastedgoat; 01-23-2010 at 09:12 AM. |

Good job HW and goat! Two different tones and I liked them both.

Well Toast there were some moments of genius in there along with some things that didn't work as well. But that was the Idea I'm finding it difficult not to Em pent this thing. But props for the experimentation. Now the challenge will be to pick out the genius parts and build on them. |

Well, I found my headphones, and the BT is great! I'm not gonna listen to anyone's take until I do my own. I don't know how "out" I can take this though. Maybe after I see Holdsworth, lol.
