I love bagpipes. I wish there was some bagpipe effect or something for the guitar. If such a thing exists then I've had shit luck finding it. I know Mike Oldfield used some giant box of shit to get his guitar to sound like that on Tubular Bells, but other than that I'm clueless.

didn't Big Country do something like this, using two guitars? the notes on Mike's "Glorfindel" box are interesting... Quote:

I love the pipes, and I'm of Mediterranean descent. I don't know what kind of (guitar?) effect GL used in The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, but to me it sounded vaguely of the pipes. Of course, there's my no-talent-for-playing-by-ear at work.

Back when I was hanging out with my teenage friends we had a next door neighbour who used to play bagpipes on the weekend in his backyard. So we'd take my pals stereo and put the speakers in the window and blast Led Zeppelin at top volume back at him. He didn't mind... it was actually a good laugh. He'd start up with the bagpipes and we'd counter with Immigrant Song or Deep Purple, Smoke on the Water. Then we'd start a music war with both of em going on once.
