Gene61 Just getting started
Default And here I am...

Gene here, just getting started...again!
I tried to learn about 10 years ago but working 12 hr's a day got in the way, Im now Retired! So its game on, gonna be a rock star now lol
I need some help, back then I had bought Band In A Box it let me play along with simple chords....it worked for me. I no longer have that software.
Im tryin not to spend another $100 on software right now.
Anyone have a clue what else I could use, I ve searched all day with no real luck not knowing what does what?
I do have a American Strat along with a FM25 DSP that has RCA input that I plan to run my laptop into.
Any help on some really simple software that has backing and simple chords would greatly be appreciated!
Thanks

Welcome in Gene and congrats on your retirement and jumping back into the guitar. I'm kind of in the same boat. I had "band in the box" but lord only knows what I did with it. I use youtube. There is a ton of backing tracks, lesson videos, strum along songs, and just about anything you want............... John

Hmm, cant thank you enough, Chordpulse is exactly what I was looking for!
Im up & running with it through my amp.
I believe it will help me alot, hopefully in a week or so I can try some of the stuff on YouTube that I recognize. No recording software yet. I got enough to struggle with the next few weeks.
Thank you!!

Thanks for that. I'm going to give it a try.

I use a sound editor, Cool Edit Pro in my case, when learning new tunes, so that I can slow down and/or loop the tricky sections. I sometimes also change the pitch, as some tunes are off-key or in a key I don't like.
