Nelmarticus Just getting started
Default Hey Everyone!

Hey All!
I recently got back into playing Guitar after taking an ~12 year break (Life, Marriage, Kids... now: Divorce! More time to play!) Iíve been playing again for about a year and half, consider myself an intermediate level player/Singer/Songwriter. I play mostly Rock/Blues/Emo/Alternative, and until recently have really only ever played acoustically, on my 1981 Ovation Legend 1617, which Iíve owned for 23 years (since I was 12). I recently picked up an Epiphone Es-339 semi-hollow body electric, and have been having a lot of fun experimenting with new-to-me electric guitar tones.
Look forward to being a part of the community!

Welcome in Nelmarticus. I have been eyeballing a ES339 for several months now. I play sitting down so a Epi 339 is a smaller bodied guitar so it should be comfortable for me.

Thanks, that’s actually one of the reasons I like it so much, it fits really well in the sitting position. I tried out a few hollow/semi hollow guitars over the course of about a month:
Gretsch G2420, G5420, G2622
Ibanez AF73, AF55, AF93(I think it’s a 93)
A couple higher end guitars from D’Angelico, and Taylor
And numerous Epiphones: Casino, Dot, 335... and the 339 just felt the best to me.
I’ve only had for a short time, set up the action and intonation myself, and have been really enjoying it. Hope you find something that suits you.
