Raunchy, but in a good way!
Your tone conveys anger & sadness all rolled into one......

Enjoyed it immensely!

Nothing sounds out of tune to me......you seem quite at home with the Dorian Mode.

Sometimes there is what sounds to me like feedback, I like!

I stepped one toe out of the box
Ha, around 1:40 was when I hit my first clam. I was a bit off on some of my bends too.

The volume was probably a bit too loud for the mic, so there's some clipping.

Nice hard edge to your take. (watch your bends too...).

Nice, chill take. You were kinda wandering around, finding your groove.

You were at the 10th fret D minor pent box, right? You can play D minor pent over D dorian, but you can't (well, kinda) play the D minor scale over D Dorian.

D minor has the same notes as an F major (with a Bb). D Dorian has the same notes as C major, so an A minor pent works. I was listening to your track when something just felt off- you played a Bb (B string, 11th fret). I'm just bringing it up because you were in D minor pent, and may have been thinking D minor. While Dorian is a minor mode, the distinctive sound is the major 6th, D-B. Probably why I heard something off.

You were playing wider intervals, which is great, Aly. Though you may not understand the theory that well (not that I do), you're willing to take chances, and put yourself out there. You should be proud of yourself. You're putting serious effort in all these takes.

It's that, that has me say WTF?

I have to really think about this a minute & then I am going to try Am pent & see what happens......hummmmmm..........thanks for the feedback.

The notes you speak of & those outside the box still sound like wrong notes to me & I think I subconsciously avoid them because of that. Anyway, I'm plugging away at all this & I felt this was a pretty good effort. Thanks for noticing

Well butter my buns & call me a biscuit, Am Pent works!! Dm pent too(kinda)-I see what you mean now after experimenting-some notes work & some are "off".

I am not even going to ask why Am pent works......that's for another day

Sounds good AlyKat. Got that late night smoky bar jam session feel to it. I like your playing starting about 3:30, phrasing is especially nice there.

Trippy it is! Soulful too. Phrased well enough to leave space to let the track 'breathe'. Sounds like you use a Phaser for this track. Cool take even tho you hit some clams
