Tried it at the weekend was ok but not as much sustain as the plexitube but I could mix the ds1 better volume wise so sticking with it for a wee change for the moment

You sound under-enthused with it. Not what you wanted? I got a SD-1 a while back and like it. I'm thinking of getting another overdrive, but I don't know what to get. The SD-1 is good, but doesn't quite do it for me. I'm looking for a nice bluesy, slightly broken up sound. Seems like all the overdrive pedals sound good with single notes, but as soon as you send a chord through them, you just get hash coming out. It may be my amp. I'm just not sure.

I have the same dyna comp. Guess you like it. I find it so transparent, I'm not sure it's on or not. I'm pretty happy with the Keeley Compressor Plus. It gives a "gentle" compression. I have an old Boss comp that can squeeze the life out of a signal, that's standing the test of time.

Question DS-1 To Mod Or Not To Mod ?

Congrats , it's a cool thing to get a new toy .

My daughter just gave me one a couple of weeks ago . I've been asking a lot about them since and soon saw all
the mods one can do to it , one in particular got my attention was the removal of two small ( tiny ) diodes [ D4 & D5 ]
to gain a smoother treble and fatter mid boost .

Thought you would like looking into this video . Got me to thinking on doing it to the one my daughter just gave me .
Pretty easy looking straight up mod with the removal of just two diodes and no soldering to have to do . I could put
them back in if I don't like the results .

&

This is a much more technical mod , this guy I believe is from your neck of the woods :

EZ :

Love your work.

Only pedal I have is a Boss RC-30. I should explore more
