Default Best Guitar around 500 budget

Hey guys, I've been searching for a new guitar that helps me either at gigs and at home.
I like to sound big, big low end presence but with a well defined sound.

I have a Dean Razorback but I was looking to get something different, something travel friendly and maybe with a more balanced tone (though i love my Dean).
I've been looking at a Cort Manson M-Jet but it's hard to find trustyworthy reviews and there's very few of them.

My budget is around 500, what do you guys recommend me?

I don't know what music you're into, but I think you can get very good Epiphones, Fenders, or even a PRS with that budget, especially on the used market.

You can always get a really cheap guitar and mod it. I saw an Anderton's vid where they had a $600 pound budget to get the best guitar they could. Both modded cheap guitars that sounded great.

Well not very big on Fender but what Epiphone do you recommend in this price range?

I play an hard rock with heavy riffs and some jazz influenced melodies

Epiphone has several Les Paul models, as well as SGs and others. Check the on-line stores.

I have an Epiphone LP and an SG400. Both are really nice guitars. The SG sounds great and is less expensive as it's simpler to build.

A Telecaster? I think a Squire CV will fit your budget. You may change the pickups to something of your liking. Mine has a single coil sized humbucker on the bridge and overwound single on the neck to balance the high output. I like it better than my full humbucker guitars because it is more clear and bright.

I'd recommend just getting a black Telecaster Deluxe.

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...le-fingerboard

They're about as reliable as you'll find in the ~500€ range, easy to work on, easy to resell.

You're looking at:

versus

Replace the nut, the string trees, and dress the frets and you'll have a real guitar.

I had a Cort Strat once. It was a $200 guitar and after I set it up properly it was fine. I was playing it in the picture to the left of this post. I bought it because it sounded more like a Strat than a real Strat. If you go with a Cort, make sure you get one from the high end of their models. They are just like everybody else. The bottom end stuff is junkie.
