We've been doing that with toast for years. Punch a hole in the middle of a well buttered piece of bread, drop it in the frying pan, plop the egg in the hole, fry it up. Mmmmm, good!

Gonna have to try that next time we have burgers!

Is the meat there just straight up meat? When I make hamburgers, I add an egg and breadcrumbs (well actually I just pulverize some crackers because I'm lazy and cheap) to help hold it all together. So all my hamburgers already have egg in them.

Make one giant patty & you've got meatloaf

If you enjoy that with a Diet Coke it's considered a healthy snack...

Cracker or bread crumbs with egg, salt pepper, onion, garlic powder and a spot of Worcestershire sauce helps as you say to bond it and also retain more moister in the meat. (doesn't go without saying it also hold more of the grease in too)

Yep then try a burger with some horseradish sauce mixed into some ketchup for a slightly different twist.

No way!! I prefer my burger unadulterated..something about the texture with the bread crumbs puts it in the meatloaf category, which is fine..but just not on a burger

Straight up medium chuck with Keg Spice seasoning for me, Branden. I never use binders in my meat. I pack the meat with my hands (Okay, just for the future, get your minds outta the gutter, I know how some of you are ) roll the meat into a tight ball, hand flatten and then use our patty presser for the final to get a 1-1/4 inch thick patty (1/2 pound each since I made 2 burger patties with a one pound pack).

My Dad used to use the same method of eggs and breadcrumbs. All that did was suck out all the moisture and dry the meat before it was ready for eating. Mind you, he was never really all that great at BBQ'ing (Sorry Pop) and over cooked quite a bit, so I guess that's why I never used a binder when I went on my own.
