Default Van Halen on Jimmy Kimmel Last Night

Stumbled upon Van Halen performing on Jimmy Kimmel last night...I would have never recognized David Lee Roth-he looks terrible & his singing is even worse. He had a bloody bandage on his nose & I guess earlier he had spun a baton furiously while performing & whapped himself in the nose with it & had to get 14 stitches. Eddie Van Halen was awesome. Anybody see it ?

Nope, didn't watch it. DLR has yet to recognize himself as what he really is, a freaking old man, and stop behaving like he was still in his 20. He tries so hard to maintain that old DLR image that he is missing life passing by. He's stock in an era long time gone. Eddie sticks to just playing as he's always done. That was the chemistry between them, Eddie focused on the music while Dave focused on the show, well, time passes by and all musicians can keep playing music, very few showmen can keep playing the show

He didn't seem bad to me. I guess it's better than selling insurance. Was that Eddies kid playing bass?

I saw some YT's. Ed has cleaned up his act, and it really shows large in his live playing. He's not sloppy as he was in the past under the influence, and he looks great BTW with the new teeth and attitude as well as his pipes.

Dave, on the other hand..He hasn't changed.

My bets are on 4 shows and they quit again. Leave the past in the past for this lineup.

I read that DLR couldn't sing well live even back in his prime, so the fact that he can't sing well live now is just same-old same-old.

I haven't checked it out yet...but I will. I was a huge VH fan back in the day, but they don't do it for me any more.

Michael Anthony is on tour with Sammy Hagar. They will be playing in Puerto Rico the 24th

My Facebook feed has been blowing up with posts by disgruntled VH fans lol. I never liked them, but I do think they would do well and fine if they were doing something that is new to them as opposed to going through the motions with older material that they've played thousands of times in thousands of moods and circumstances. I never cared a bit for EVH either but in the few videos I've seen of this performance I think he had a really nice touch. So there you have it; the Van Halen Lovers are unhappy with them and the Van Halen Hater has a few nice things to say for them
