Default Hi all

Hi

Ive been playing the guitar for many years but have never seemed to improve
I think ive spent all those years noodling and even tho i love everything about guitars and music i didn't take it seriously, anyhow thats changed and the last month ive been practicing for around 2 to 3 hours a day and reading up about music theory

I would love to be able to play well and understand all about music theory.

Hi to all and hope your having a good day

Hi dont fret!

Welcome in!

Good for you that you've started to take playing more seriously. Since you've been doing that a month, have you started to see improvement?

What type of music do you play?

Thx ballisticsquid

The forum seems great

I have noticed that my finger independence and general technique has improved and i'm really pleased about that. Plus i now understand the basics of music theory but there is still lots im finding hard to get my head around, at the moment its complicated stuff hope it gets easyer

My favourite guitarists are david gilmour and john frusciante so their who i try to play like although its noway close to that yet

You had me at Gilmour . He's a big influence of mine. I've always admired his phrasing and tone. He can tell a story in just one note.

Great to hear of your imrovement...finger independence helps a lot with everything and lets you be more efficient and smooth.

Theory knowledge can only help, but don't let it become a barrier or roadblock. There is much you can do without indepth theory knowledge. Just like developing your chops, theory knowledge and how to apply it come with time an patience.
