Pay is all over the place here (DC/MD/VA/WV). Some examples from 2017:
  • $600 for a 4-piece band for 4 hours at a VFW
  • $1000 for a 3-piece band for 1 hour at a convention center
  • $150 for a 3-piece band for 3 hours at a brewery
  • $1000 for a 4-piece band for 3 thirty-minute sets at First Night (NYE street party)
  • $175 for a duo for 3 hours at a winery
  • $125 for a 1-hour solo show at a retirement community

Yep. Convention centers, retirement communities, and civic events pay the best; they actually have entertainment budgets. Breweries/wineries and bars pay the worst, and you better cash their check ASAP!
