Default Streaching you fingers

I've been practicing Fear of the dark - Iron maiden for a while. But i can't manage to streach my fingers far enough while picking up the speed... When taking it slow i can barly streach my fingers far enough but with speed it doesnt work. So i was wondering if any1 had some ideas and tips for making me able to streach my fingers longer and faster.

Have a good day --ksson

You're having trouble with the 3/5/7 on the second phrase of the intro, correct?

Short term solutions:
1: 3/5/7 = 3/5/2
2: The 3 isn't planted... let it it go and slide into the 7 or fulcrum/rock on the 5.

Your reach will improve a bit with time and practice. It's not something that you really want to force. You will encounter numerous parts that are written by long-fingered superhuman mutants that you will have to compromise on, and a 3/5/7 stretch isn't even close to the worst of it. Coping, acceptance, and working around your physical limitations are as important as good technique.

You could do stuff like this. Do a run starting on the sixth string and go down to the high E. then go back up.
Play this on each string.
3--5--7
Then
----------3--------3--5-----3--5--7
3--5--7-----5--7--------7----------
Once you have that down and easy move it to the it down to 2nd fret. Once that is easy move it to the 1st fret.
Also try chords like this
--------
5--4--4
6--6--5
7--7--7
8--8--8
--------
Note how one finger moves one fret. Creep this pattern up and down the fretboard and when you're ready start creeping 2 frets at a time.

Also what Kamak said. You just might never get it. But there are notes all over you can "cheat" with.

Yes, exactly that part... The first part of the intro is perfect for me

The first option didn't sound very good when i played it,

I didnt quite understand the second part... would you like to explain more deeply what you ment?

As Guy said, i might just have to pratice being faster and releasing my index finger to move down to the 7 with my pinky...

Exactly as guy said. The 3 isn't sustained/held. You are allowed to move your hand to the 5 position to reach the 7. You can either slide it, or you can rock it behind the 5 like a see-saw. Whichever sounds better.

The only hard thing is that you have to do 7 and then 3 pretty quick and thay may be hard to do if you move your hand, right?
