Default Headphones?

So, what kind and brand of headphones are you using? Open
Back or closed back? Wireless, Bluetooth or corded?

Huge, closed back, well padded Sylvania headphones.

I use an older $100 set of AKG corded, over the ear, closed back, studio phones. Why do you want to know?

Just trying to get some ideas on what to buy. Iíll be using mine to plug into my amp when I practice late at night.

I found a set of Sennheiser HD558ís on CL for $45.

Thanks for your input.

I always buy Sennhieser. I have 3 pair right now, several years old and don't what models they are. In the $50 to $100 range. One open back, one closed and a pair of earbuds.

I use these cheapies and they work as good as any more expensive ones I've had. Loud full sound, good bass, comfortable, adjustable, block out room noise.

Headphones were a bit of a hobby of mine at one point. I have Sony MDR-7506 which are closed back around the ear. In just about any picture of somebody in a recording studio or a radio station has a pair of these one. Grado SR-80 and Grado SR-225 - these are open back and sit on the ear. It's amazing the difference the open back makes...though not good if you are recording or near somebody that may not want to be listening to music the same time as you . I also have a pair of Shure SE-315, which are IEMs. They are comfortable, have great isolation, and sound great. I have had them for 7 years and have not (knock on wood) had a single problem. They have easily replaceable sleeves.
