Went to see widespread Panic 3 years ago for Halloween.

After the show Frenchman street had turned into a one stop shop for illegal substances, nitrous tanks were EVEYRWHERE and all you could here was ppssssshhhhh as people filled their balloons.

Pretty disgusting if you ask me, cops didn't seem to care.

I've been a few times and none of the trips have impressed me. The New Orleans style Jazz is pretty cool to hear and see plus the cajun food is top tier. Sadly, neither of these things make it worth going in my opinion. Just a bunch of drunks acting stupid.

Then you'll really want to check out the cemetery. There's some dispute over who's really buried there, but that's where her tomb is - St Louis #1.

Donna,
you and your friends could also travel about 100 miles or so north of New Orleans and see some of the Plantation homes near St. Francesville, La. they have scheduled tours. so, you are sure to be told all the stories and myths surrounding these Antebellum homes.

Don't forget in-bred, ritual, child rapist/serial killers. They could not have picked a better setting for "True Detective." Born on the Bayou, indeed.

I loved True Detective. Too bad True Blood jumped the shark a few seasons ago. It's like the X Men to me now...

But True Blood has an awesome opening tune.

True Detective was set about two hours West of New Orleans.
