My guitar related resolutions are to be more focused when practicing and to learn to play songs start-to-end.

And maybe to not buy any more guitars this year

My resolution this year is to continue from my last years resolution playing piano. There is an instructor on YouTube called Danthecomposer, He has issued a challenge to is student followers to play every major, minor scale and chord arpeggio at 120 bpm with both hands. I want to take on that challenge.

I've been wanting to do finger exercises everyday. I broke my middle finger on my fret hand years ago. I don't play as well as I was because of it. I was thinking that finger exercises might rehabilitate. Perhaps I would do that.

And... work out regularly. I am so embarrassingly out of shape.

I always felt that was one of the benefits of learning to use two hands on the fretboard. I do like to use that (occasionally, not ad nauseam) for two handed tapping, but it also allows the player to develop and play chords structures that would otherwise be impossible.

Yeah, mostly anyway. I can play E-shaped barre chords pretty well up and down the neck. I can play some variations as well, like the minor chords.

I'm still a little slow but I can do it and it gets better week by week.

One big exception, I really struggle with the barre on the B string. On the strat with 9s it can get it most of the time. On the acoustic with 12's the B almost never rings out. It's the shape of my damn finger. I can't find a position that works across all 6 strings. Also I can play 2 other non-barre F's, so there some related progress.
