Default Unsure of amp settings

I recently bought a Rogue cg20r guitar combo amp, which I really can't find any information on. It has presence, volume, bass, mids, and treble knobs. Then it has a set of four knobs that say 60hz, 250hz, 1khz, 4Khz. It is a combo amp so I think those knobs are for the vocal input. But it doesn't have any gain or overdrive or anything like that. So, my question is what do I do? I want to get a "Metal" sound or at least something of the sort. Am I even able to do that or am I stuck until I get petals?

This is my first post here and I'm still a beginner.

Are you sure it is a CG20R? - The controls you describe aren't the same as the pics I found.

Turn every knob on it to the right as far as they will go. Then push that little white button IN. WHAM! Instant Metal.

I'm glad you caught the humor. Yeah, I was trying to help him find the clean/dirty button and be funny at the same time.

The guy is admittedly a beginner and it's humorous to give him bogus information to potentially blow his amp up? Hilarious.

After digging around I finally found out that this is a Bass amp! The name of the amp model was right next to an output hole and above the power button so I overlooked it. Either way, the guy at Guitar Center and their website lied to me It makes sense now as I noticed it worked better with lower sounds!

Just return it! I think GC's policy is...30 days? 60 days?

With Guitar Center, thats part of the deal. Very few (if any) workers at GC know the diff between a piece of musical gear and a moose head on the wall.

Get a bass guitar AND a guitar amp. I hear Line 6 amps are good for metal sounds.
