Not everyone who smiles at you is your friend.

Honestly it just sounds like you haven't been exercising your brain much with activity, I recommend playing chess.

I have known vocalists who couldnt play an instrument who wrote the words then made up melodies in their heads. They needed to collaberate with other musicians to put it down on paper. Even little kids make up tunes in their heads It goes to show you do not need to be a good musician to write songs. By the same token, good musicians do not necessarily write good songs. I am not a good song writer, although some of my melodies are not so bad. If I come up with a tune, or a part tune/bridge/chorus/fragment, riff etc. I do not throw it away. It sometimes gets changed, sometimes used as it is, sometimes never gets used. Just don't throw it away.

A very famous songwriter wrote some of his best songs on a piano that was geared for one key. All he did was pull a lever, and the piano did the rest for him. Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet said that on a great program i watch called Song book. Different artists perform unplugged versions of they're hits, whilst some guy ask's them questions in between songs. So far i've seen: Gary Kemp, Fran Healy from Travis, James Blunt, the bloke from Snow Patrol, Donovan.
