When you turn the TUNING PEG or button, does the TUNING POST turn or just remain still??? It that is what you are describing, someone blew out the gears inside the tuning machine, Floyd or not. Additionally, floyds have Micro Tuning machines at the lower end of the Bridge, do you have that?? Those are for the fine tuning to get you into perfect pitch without having to loosen all the locking nuts at the nut. I defer to others with floyds, and their experience, I wouldn't own one for love or money. Just me.

No, I jest, I kid... MOST people avoid Floyds like the plague. I'm a mechanical tinkerer, so of course I love them to death.

All that being said, here's one of the best pages I've ever found on dealing with Ibanez bridges, and I've been using it for at least the last 6 years:
