Yep.

If you feel any pain, stop playing. Don't play the next day either. It's your body's way of telling you "i'm tired, let me rest". You don't need to practice 7 hours a day - it can end up having a negative effect. How do I know this? I used to practice 7 hours a day and I ended up getting tendonitis in the tendon that runs along the back of the middle finger on my left hand.

I was on ibuprofen for 3 months, and had to alternate between using ice-packs on the back of my hand (to reduce swelling) and bathing my hand in warm water (to increase blood flow), as well as seeking therapy from a physical therapist. I had to wear a sports bandage support on my wrist every night (and still do). Tendons take a long time to heal as they receive such little blood flow. I couldn't play at all for 3 months, then after that I could only manage about half an hour a week. It was about a year before I could play semi-regularly, and about two years before I could play as and when I wanted. I still get trouble every now and then from the tendon, but now I recognise when to stop and let it rest.

I'm not trying to scare you or anything, but please listen to your body and don't over do it, because the consequences just aren't worth it.
