when i arpegiate like chords it sounds like its building up to a solo or ending the song. i cant find a way to make it so that its like very fluid or what ever i kinda want it like this YouTube - Red - Never Be The Same WITH LYRICS and this YouTube - Daughtry - September - New Song w/ Lyrics but mine just sounds like a build up or an ending.. any tips? |

ive tried that but due then that sounds "plain" and nothing really pops out. like for example, i use "trills" when i arpegiate and also use hammer ons and pull offs. now that makes it so it kinda pops out. know if i slow it down a play the same speed the trills are just like repition which can be plain at sometimes.

the whole point of doing that with a chord is to slow it down a little bit if u try and play it fast then it just becomes the chord again with slightly seperated notes...idk i dont do it that much but when i do thats how i do it

What exactly is it that you do want to do with it? The more you know about what you want, the easier it is to get there. I'm gonna go as far as to make accusation that this problem is probably more so in your head. Arpeggios do typically lead one to believe that there will be melody coming over soon, but whether it's a solo or singing or whatever, y'know that's up to you. Might want to consider the dynamics of your playing, though. That can often change things up dramatically.

Well i want it to be like the guitar for the verse and then go into playing the actual chords during the chorus so far the chords are C,F,G,Am. thats the progression, i might take out the Am because it kinda makes it a darker sound which i dont want. i just like this little progression of the Am or the regular A chord for that matter that i made up, i might put that in another song though. so what your saying is that i think the arpeggio is leading up to something when to the untrained ear its not? I want the arpeggio to be like throughout the verse, not like play, stop and sing. I want it to be like play and sing at the same time
