Default Ancient Chinese Bells

Not sure if I'd ever passed this along, but have ya'll ever heard of the bells found in ancient Chinese tombs at the turn of the century?

This short article gives a quick interesting summary.

While someone I'm corresponding with in China gave me this link that gets into some of the technical details.

Considering how old they are, that they have two tones in one, the precise tonal structure, and that we still can't replicate the fine requirements of the metallurgy...I find them remarkable.

Interesting. When I was a kid, my parents used to drag me to the Chinese opera; don't recall ever seeing bells of any type though.
