Default Bridges in song construction

I wish just curous if there is any sort of theory being what chords to use in the bridge of a song. I usually just randomly stumble upon the bridges i add to my song but i want to know if you guys have any sort of method on how you figure it out..

Lets say were in the key of G and theres a simple song that goes like oh idk... G D C Em repeat...

Oh yea if this is in the wrong section movie it..

I would use a suspended D followed by an Amajor..twice, then to the C and back to the D to turnaround..

Why..? is there any theory behind that? I'm not trying to be mean if it sounds like that, im just writing a song using more complicated chords than those and was wondering if there's any sort of "typical bridge" part of the progression..

[EDIT:] idk if this would help out at all but the chords for the chorus are F#m A AMaj7 Bm7 A(open) and i solo to this in A Ionian

No there's no reason to it, you can use any chords you like, but there has to be some sort of hook between the melody chords and chorus chords or else you just are playing a new set of chords for a chorus that doesn't fit anything and doesn't work back around.

I was just throwin out what would be natural in my experience. And you are the one that listed the simple chords to begin with...;-)

it goes like this..........

yeah, thats the bridge you want!

j/k

dude a bridge is tough! sometimes I just don't put one in.

really there is no law that says you have to have one.

SoundClick artist: hardwired flaws - page with MP3 music downloads

none of mine have a bridge.

so I don't worry abut it!
